Presenting Aquazone pilot plant and clean water unit

Aquazone clean water unit that is used to produce drinking water from wastewater and to study different techniques to remove contaminants from wastewater was introduced on Thursday 16th of November 2017. The capacity of the unit is about 200m3/d and as a feed water it uses purified wastewater from Aquazone’s MBR-process. Process steps include inlet pumping, ozonisation, UV-treatment, activated carbon filtration, ultrafiltration, reverse osmosis and limestone alkalizing. Operation of each process step can be also studied separately, and it is possible to examine the removal of contaminants only from the reject of reverse osmosis. Contaminant removal can now be studied in a reasonable scale which enables us to prepare in advance for the potential future environmental permit requirements.
